Rappahannock NonProfit Center

Rappahannock County, Virginia

Our Mission and Vision

How We Operate

Housed at the RNPC's headquarters at the School House, The Link accomplishes its task by providing guidance, support, centralized services, meeting and event facilities, and on-going educational programs for non-profits and the communities they serve, in Rappahannock County and the surrounding area.

In addition to sponsoring training programs, workshops and public meetings hosted by RNPC, The Link functions as a community center and resource facility, currently housing not only RNPC offices but also other County-based, not-for-profits. Current tenants include the county's river-water oversight project RappFLOW, the Rappahannock County Conservation Alliance, and Headwaters' educational support program.

The goal of The Link is to encourage as many such groups to have offices in the building, or to otherwise utilize the complex facilities, as it will accommodate. We believe this will stimulate cooperative and supportive office interaction. Space is available for additional tenants.

The Link - Mission and Vision

The future of Rappahannock County's unique cultural and natural resources depends largely on the effectiveness of its vibrant nonprofit and volunteer community. We believe that, to best serve their missions, nonprofit organizations must be managed efficiently, employing best business practices while preserving their passion for successful achievement for a given cause.

The Link brings together nonprofit organizations, local government agencies and citizens with the goal of preserving our county's heritage of 175 years of history and local government, rural accomplishment, artistic creativity and environmental concern, so that our future generations may enjoy and value and protect them.

The mission of RNPC is to help nonprofit organizations in Rappahannock and surrounding areas to improve their management practices and successfully attract the human, financial, and other resources necessary to carry out their missions.

The vision of RNPC is a healthy, vital community strengthened through fully supported nonprofit efforts.

The Link strives to:

  • Serve as a central, focal point for community-based activities
  • Provide access and connection for non-profits to the community and visa versa
  • Encourage civic involvement in programs which benefit the community at-large
  • Work as a catalyst for wider good by encouraging collaborative programs
  • Build a united, county community and serve as an effective model for others to emulate

It offers value to the County and surrounding areas, by:

  • Uniting citizens from diverse backgrounds, who work together in new and different venues on common problem areas
  • Responding to existing and new community challenges by seeking solutions
  • Offering an avenue for deepening the sense of connecting among the ever changing and diverse groups who reside in our community
