About the Rappahannock NonProfit Center
We've much to be proud of. A beautiful location. A strong and competent Board of Directors. The support of an active community. And an important mission. What could be better? The only thing that could be better would be to have more than one important mission. And we have that now. Our first goal, to support and enhance the ability of nonprofit organizations, is paramount. And we have been successful. From fire departments to environmental concerns to day care facilities, we have established ourselves as a positive force for growth and efficiency. Now we have a secondary mission - to establish a community center for Rappahannock County that serves the community and at the same time provides new opportunities for nonprofit concerns. The fact that the community center is the original schoolhouse of Sperryville makes our efforts historically significant, and therefore even more important. To guide us through these important missions, we have a Board of Directors that is exceptionally talented, composed of active and important members of the community:
Our executive director, Melanie Thornhill Kopjanski, brings an energy and capability to the effort that brings all the plans together. It is doubly nice that, years ago, Melanie was a student at the same Sperryville Schoolhouse that she is now working to save. Sweet irony. For a synopsis of the Board's and the Executive Director's qualifications and backgrounds, click here. Over the last four years, we have provided low cost or no-cost services in support of a wide swath of community-based organizations. They are listed below. All are important, to you and to us. And we've only just begun. Please consider joining us. Volunteer your time. (Click here to learn more.) Or, if you can't spare time, help us out financially. (Click here to donate.) We're an investment in your community. You can't get much better than that for your dollar.
